The Contemporary Arts Society is pleased to present a solo show of the paintings of the great US artist Roy Lerner, curated by Morgan Morris, with support from the City of Spoleto.

Lerner’s constant experimentation with various materials in his work has led him to a variety of collaborations, including with Golden Laboratories and the NASA Research Center, to ultimately create new create materials that he calls interference.

A famous exponent of Color Field painting, Lerner was also the last student of renowned critic and art historian Clement Greenberg.

The density of the material and the expressive force of his colors highlight the artist’s paintings and have come to mark his very personal style.
