Delalande Concert de Trompettes (Simphonie – Chaconne - Air – Menuet I/II - Air en echo) | At the court of Luis XIV, “Les trompettes des plaisirs” were four elitist trumpets chosen among the twenty-four official trumpet players of the bodyguards. They had the status of Chevaliers and depended directly from the King. The ensemble has an organic of natural trumpets (in variable number from three to five), Baroque timpani and organ, plus other instruments according the piece chosen, all the way to become an orchestra. The 17th and 18th century repertoires – both ceremonial and “artistic” – live again in this concert through the use of copies of ancient instruments and a rigorous respect of the musical performing rules of the time. The ensemble held concerts for absolute prestigious Festivals and associations, such as Segni Barocchi-Foligno; the University of Tor Vergata of Rome; Luglio Musicale Trapanese-Trapani; the International Festival "Gjgj Moret"-Venzone; the Baroque Academy "W. Hermans"-Collescipoli; the Association Ameria Umbra-Amelia; Civitavecchia in Festival; Roma Barocca in Musica.
The players of the complex are musicians specialized in 16th-18th century repertoires. They play as soloists as well, collaborate with the most prestigious Baroque orchestras and have realized CD and radio recordings. «A solemn event, whether civic or religious, cannot be considered so if not accompanied by the sound of trumpets and timpani.»
