A tribute to Vittorio Gassman, on the tenth anniversary of his death.
Jumbled text on love, war, lust and essentially, on an identity.
Two groups of young people face up to each other – victims and authors of the logic of power at the same moment  – without any certain, common, ethical and political values, at the mercy of the tyrannical role of cultural fashions, of the sale of the ego.
They confront and challenge each other, argue and act creating idols, suffering the mimetic rivalry, acting  upon techniques of manipulation of consent. The war is internal and external. The themes of love and war are inseparable.
There are no gods, only people  in search of an identity increasingly more complex, in a society where the values themselves seem devoid of glamour, while fascination for the values proposed by mass  consensus grows. The adaptation by Ricci/Forte is interpreted by eighteen former Accademia students with an exceptional witness, Michele Placido, directed by Piero Maccarinelli.
Two opposing worlds, the Greeks and Trojans, apparently two ethical conceptions, two models of society ready to clash on the field of war and love. Eroticism and heroism are the main themes around which two groups of youths clash and meet. The established values are debated. The trial against the war, its practitioners and the politics becomes sarcastic, grotesque. The sale of the ego, the tyrannical role of the cultural trends become values and the characters confront each other, argue and act through  techniques of manipulation. The war is internal and external and so the characters become youths  looking for an ever more complex identity. Even the sky is empty. There are no gods who can decide the fate of these men, the fate of these women. From Troy we move to the theater, to the world, without any specific reference periods, to a timelessness very close to our modern times.
