…Ernesto Ragazzoni was a sweet and bizarre little boywith grey hair, who wandered the world without a clock or an umbrella. When asked why he hated clocks so much, he just impatiently answered: “They are all paid to say the same thing!”…
Ernesto Ragazzoni was an exceptional writer, poet and journalist, but above all a man whose mind was free and witty. Born in Orta San Giulio, on Lake Orta in 1870, he died in Torino in 1920.
As for many great men of intellect, dissipators  of themselves, Ernesto Ragazzoni’s fame managed to get to our time, in spite of the criticism and almost absence of critique, thanks to those who, reading his work, loved and appreciated it.
This stage play aims at paying a tribute to the poet and the man, hoping to contribute to the spreading of Ragazzoni’s work, that is more than deserving to be well-known.
Staging five actors, three men – one playing Ernesto Ragazzoni – two women and a pianist whose melody plays along with the exposition of the texts and sometimes makes the music and the words become one.
The set location is an editorial office of a hypothetical newspaper, in 1919 where Ragazzoni intervenes – in his own way – and interacts with his journalist colleagues.
