A tribute to Chopin in the bicentennial of his birth (1810-2010); the program is entrusted to the piano of one of the most appreciated interpreters of the Romantic repertoire of the great Polish composer. For the Festival di Spoleto, on stage at the Teatro Romano, the concert will have the characteristics of a unique event, where the magic of the music will be joined by the pathos of the lights and video, treating the audience to a memorable evening.

Daniel Wnukowski
Born in 1981 in Windsor, Canada, he studied as a pianist at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, at the Peabody Institute of the John Hopkins University in Baltimore with Fleisher and at the Academy of Music in Warsaw with Paleczny. He also specialized with Perry, Frank, Fialkowska, Pressler, Hambro and Kalish.
Recently, he was admitted to the prestigious International Piano Academy on Lake Como where he is working under the direction of renowned pianists such as William Grant Naboré, Fou Ts’ong and Dimitri Bashkirov.
Pointed out by the critics at the XIV International Piano Competition “Fryderyk Chopin” in Warsaw (2000), that same year he also participated in the International Chopin Festival in Duszniki Zdroj (Poland) and in 2001 he recorded a recital with the composer’s music for Radio - Canada.
He has given concerts in America and in Europe where he has performed in the prestigious halls of the Concertgebouw Music Hall in Amsterdam, the Salle Pleyel in Paris, the Stadt Casino in Basel and the National Philharmonic in Warsaw, interpreting authors of the classical repertoire with a preference for  romantic, neoromantic and impressionist music. In April 2007 he played with the Orchestra of the Polish Radio in Warsaw, under the direction of Tomasz Bugaj; the concert was broadcast live throughout the country.

In May 2010, Daniel Wnukowski performed a special recital in Tokyo, Japan to commemorate the unveiling of a new Chopin monument in that city. That same month, he performed an outdoor concert in Singapore to an estimated crowd of 3000 people.
Daniel Wnukowski is equally renowned as an accompanist. In the beginning of 2010, he inaugurated the Chopin year in Poznañ, Poland together with Metropolitan Opera Soprano Aleksandra Kurzak. In 2009, he inaugurated many important Chopin festivals around the world including the "Chopin in Autumn Colors" Festival, the 5th oldest International Chopin festival in the world in Antonin, Poland.
Recently, Daniel Wnukowski is also the recipient of a grant from the Canada Council for the Arts for promoting the works of Polish composer Karol Szymanowski.
