Io quella volta lì avevo 25 anni (At that time I was 25 years old) is the last prose work by Giorgio Gaber and Sandro Luporini. Written in the late Nineties, not long before Gaber died, the text is unpublished and had never been staged until director Giorgio Gallione and Teatro dell’Archivolto decided to do it as the third chapter of their project dedicated to Giorgio Gaber (the first two performances of the project being Il dio bambino and Un certo Signor G), in collaboration with Fondazione Giorgio Gaber.

The main character of this monologue, perpetually 25 years old, lives from the Forties to nowadays and recalls events that occurred to him personally during those various ages. The result is a sarcastic tale of the Italian history and society through half a century, a painful history, as seen through the authors’ critical but very humane eyes. Actor Claudio Bisio offers his warm irony to interpret an ordinary man precariously balancing himself between hope and disillusion, a young man on the border between youth and maturity (being always 25 years old), facing his life personal and political choices at different ages of Italian recent history.
