| The Italian Society of Authors and Publishers will confer 3 more awards this year to a choreographer, a designer and a playwright. The recipients of these awards will be appointed by a Committee of experts chaired by the artistic Director of the Festival Giorgio Ferrara and composed by the President of SIAE Giorgio Assumma (as Honorary President), Director General of SIAE Gaetano Blandini, the SIAE’s board member Giancarlo Lucariello, Alessandra Ferri, Franca Valeri and Gianni Quaranta. Moreover, SIAE shall give its formal acknowledgment to the “Memory Award” that Dante Ferretti will deliver in memory of the set designer Gianni Silvestri who passed away last year. The “Memory Award” shall be conferred by the Foundation of Spoleto Festival. The Italian Society of Authors and Publishers, charged with enhancing the cultural heritage of Italy, and the Festival “dei Due Mondi”, since 1958 one the most prestigious events of international culture and entertainment, combining history and innovation in music, opera, dance and theater, continue to jointly cooperate more and more. | Dante Ferretti will be awarded the 2010 SIAE Creativity Award on June 26th during the Spoleto Festival “Due Mondi”. From “Medea” by Pier Paolo Pasolini (1970) to “Shutter Island” by Martin Scorsese (2009), the Oscar Award winner, Ferretti ( “The aviator” 2004 and “Sweeney Todd: the demon Barber of Fleet Street”, 2008) is one the greatest Italian set and costume designers, a creative talent whose reputation is world-renowned. |
